The spring equinox marks a powerful moment of balance and transformation on Earth. It signals a time when day and night stand equal, and nature begins its steady shift toward growth and renewal. There's no stopping it.
Like the earth, the soul knows what it wants and what needs to be shed from the body and mind. The intuitive hits are the firing system. Every changed thought and action is the listened to response to the firing. This is transformation energy, and it's a big deal. Every new and better awareness followed by every new and better aligned choice upgrades our systems, internally and externally.
The Earth invites us to walk in this new energy and progress by fully embodying the changes that are already taking place, and leading to greater wisdom and understanding.
Like a tree that loses its branches under the weight of its own being, we too must shed the extra weight we carry that blocks our next season of growth. The tree simply shifts the load and releases what hurts. In transformation energy, we are asked to do the same.
Let's dive into this seasonal shift, the lessons from loss, and a ritual to honor the old while welcoming the new.
The Weight of the Past: Lessons from a Plum Tree
In a quiet garden, a plum tree stood heavy with snow and then rain, all while it was trying to bloom. All it was trying to do was to push out its beauty to the world but the load was too great. Its branches bent low, one of the largest sacrificing itself to release the burden. Nearly one-third of its limbs fell away, not from disease, but simply because the weight was too much to carry any longer.
The tree was no longer the same, permanently changed, yet still able to grow and now able to appreciate all the broken branch had given to the whole of tree, for as long as it could bear.
This natural pruning may have been long and painful or abrupt. The tree sheds its own excess to protect its core and pursue its life of growth. This mirrors our own lives in many ways. We often pack on and carry excess burdens via old or harmful habits, conditioning, the forcing of poor relationships, feeding fears, anxiety, and just accumulated stress—that slowly weighs us down and hinders the system from functioning as good as we'd like.
The body wants to restore itself, just like the tree.
The spring equinox invites us to recognize the weight we've already shed, consider any residual energy that may be lingering, and acknowledge what is still waiting to be released. We can do it as a gentle seasonal change or as the abrupt breaks present; it's up to us how we choose to protect our core and grow.
Key takeaways from the plum tree:
Shedding is a natural and essential part of growth.
Loss can be a form of protection and preparation.
Excess weight can break us if not addressed.
Renewal requires space created by letting go.
Reflecting on Loss:
Loss is often seen as an ending, but it can also be a new beginning.
The branches and leaves fall not to die, but to nourish the Mother.
So that new life may rise from their quiet and appreciated decay.
The words remind us to feed the soil of our souls, enriching our bodies with new energy that fully lands and is lived in. The spring equinox is a time to honor this cycle within ourselves—wherever we are, with love towards where we are going. When we face loss, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, it can feel permanent and painful. Nature encourages us to see loss as part of a larger process of the whole.
The old must fall away. The quiet decay must occur for harmony to restore itself.

The Energy of Permanent Change
The energy that arrives with the spring equinox is not fleeting. It is a permanent shift that can help move us forward with new, uplifting life-force energy. It's happening all around us. Many will harness this energy, inspiring a robust season of anchoring in the new growth of permanent change, while learning to blossom after the release.
We cannot return to old patterns or comfort zones that once tried to destroy us. This season demands our collective courage to embrace the energy of the unknown, and to trust in our abilities to heal ourselves, each other, and the planet.
I invite you to work with this season to:
Release old stories that limit growth.
Embody new ways of being with more intention and gratitude.
Connect deeply with the natural cycles of nature.
Recognize the roles we play in our individual and collective healing journey.
This is a time to step into the power of your choices, trusting that your path forward is one of greater renewal and inner strength.
A Ritual to Say Farewell and Welcome New Energy
To honor this season, a simple ritual can help ground the transition and set intentions for the future. Feel free to modify as your soul guides you:
Materials Needed
A small bowl or fire-safe container
Paper and pen
Matches or a lighter
A quiet, safe outdoor or indoor space
Steps
Reflect: Write down what you have already released and what you still want to release. These can be habits, fears, relationships, or anything that feels heavy.
Read aloud: Speak your list aloud, acknowledging each item with gratitude for the lessons it brings.
Burn: Carefully burn the paper in the bowl or container, watching the smoke carry away the old energy.
Celebrate: Take a moment to breathe deeply and feel the space created by release. Visualize new energy filling you with light and strength.
Set intention: Speak or write a clear intention for what you want to embody moving forward.
Bring nature inside: something small as a visual reminder to be offered back to the earth once the new energy is fully anchored
This ritual helps make the abstract process of change tangible. It marks a clear boundary between what is ending and what is beginning in your energy.
Healing Ourselves, Each Other, and the Planet
The spring equinox also reminds us that healing is a shared journey, and the Earth is alive with healing energy. As we all shed old layers, we create space not only for our personal growth but also for the healing of the Earth and our collective human consciousness. Our actions ripple outward, big and small, and this season asks us for a little more capacity for love, growth, and unifying thoughts.
We hold the power to:
Heal our emotional wounds.
Support others in their journeys of change.
Care for the Earth by aligning with the energy and natural cycles.
Recalibrate our collective energy to be more rooted in hope, renewal, and resilience.
A permanent shut off off the old that hinders and a switch on of the new that grows.
I'm sending you all the peace, love & a little nature magic for your journey ~ Terry
